Mining Tech Is Being

his technological transition has been compared to the
Industrial Revolution in terms of its potential to change the
future: the application of computerized, data-based tech that
makes industry safer and more efficient. And it’s making its
way into mining.
On the front lines of the effort are companies like Matrix Design
Group. You might not have heard of them, but they’re working with
partners on other continents to share ideas abroad – and bring ideas
home to drive new innovation here.
Matrix, an Indiana-based subsidiary of Alliance Coal, was a ground-
floor innovator on proximity detection systems and, in the decade
since, they’ve made a noticeable impact on the proliferation of high-
tech solutions in mining.
